Steadily We Climb Again

I made a random bento today.

The box has chicken and vegetable potstickers, a container of chile soy sauce for the potstickers and salad, heart shaped watermelon, frozen edamame, and candied nuts.

The top contains a nutty cookie and tiny cheezits.

I'll end with one of my favorite scenes from the Office. The best part involves Creed.

The Haze Clears from your Eyes on a Sunday

Random bento lunch for the day.

Jasmine rice and beans, carrot soy sauce for the rice, honeydew nectarine slices, mixed nuts, golden raisins and cherries, and a single stroop waffle.

I need a nap.

It's Late in the Day

I actually made myself a bento today. No cheese!

In my piggie bento, there's lemon-crusted chicken, a mini bagel sandwich, strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges, and tulip cut kiwis.

Losing Surprise

For yesterday's bento, I opted for a more traditional approach. At least for one tier.

This box holds cucumbers with ranch dressing, and cheddar/mozzarella cheese. The next tier holds heart, star, and bear shaped onigiri filled with homemade chicken teriyaki. There's also a pig bottle of homemade teriyaki sauce and some black olives.

In this box, I have a homemade strawberry mascarpone mini cupcake with fresh strawberry glaze.
There's also sliced strawberries, donut peaches, mint chocolate cookies, and mixed nuts and dried fruit.

Should we go Outside

Another bento post.

A lunch bento containing a bear and circle shaped turkey/roast beef sandwiches, baby carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, a container of ranch dressing (gross!), cottage cheese (double gross!), chocolate-espresso pudding, string cheese, and a vitamin.

Fruity bento has saturn nectarines, plums, blueberries, raspberries, mixed nuts, and a weird German Joghurt chocolate thingie.

P.S. John, I'm not good at making steak, and I don't think I could nicely fit steak into a bento either.

The Difference Between the Sprout and the Bean

So I lied maybe; I don't think this post will be very interesting. My muse is not currently functioning.

Bentoness:

The first bento box I made tonight is a fruit/veggie one. The bottom tier holds cherry tomatoes, a couple of baby carrots, cut up mozzarella, cucumbers, and weird pickly thingies.

The top tier contains a halved red plum surrounded by blueberries and a sliced strawberry.

The top mini tier thing under the cover holds sesame honey cashews.

My spiffy new Naruto bento contains a boring turkey sandwich on marble rye.

Yay for nerdy, yet awesome anime!

Bored Bento

Made two more bentos. Although creativity is severely lacking today, I still had fun.

This tier contains chocolate-espresso pudding and fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.

This tier contains cottage cheese, a saturn peach, and some super tiny chocolate chip cookies.

This bento contains sushi rice sprinkled with vegetable furikake and mickey mouse cut nori. Both Brandon and I have decided that furikake tastes like fish food flakes and is generally quite nasty. No more of that.
There is also baby carrots, a carroty bottle of soy sauce, some cherry tomatoes, and a pink heart boiled egg.

In more serious news, things are coming together nicely, expect more interesting posts in the future.

Second Bento

This is my second attempt at a bento.

For the main bento I put sushi rice decorated with butterfly shaped nori, leftover turkey meatballs, a tiny container of soy sauce for the rice, some cherry tomatoes, and a "bear" shaped boiled egg. Because I was too antsy, the egg came out looking like a happy blob instead of a bear.

The side bento contains fresh strawberries, blueberries, and butterfly cut mangoes.

Yay I'm having fun with this.

First Bento!

I finally got around to creating my first bento.

The bottom tier (top tray in this picture) holds strawberries, a container of cottage cheese, macadamia nut mix, and a hard boiled egg made in the shape of a bunny . The top tier (bottom tray in picture) holds two circle-cut mango jelly sandwiches, some sliced mango and kiwi, more strawberries, and some chocolate-espresso pudding.

This is the bento closed up in my horsey container.

No I didn't eat this one (cottage cheese for me?! no way). I made it for my boyfriend/fiance when he came home for a lunch break. Although it isn't nearly as clever and well organized as the stuff pro-bento makers create, I'm pretty happy with my first attempt.

Lächeln

Another bento package arrived today, but unfortunately I can't really do much from these pieces until other stuffs comes in.

Little container cups for sides and whatnot, and a smiley snack bento.
----------------------

I got my grades for my 2 presession classes, and I did much better than I thought I would! I am now officially finished with my Business Admin. minor.

I went to Pima Animal Care Center the other day, and my goodness that place is depressing. I fell in love with some pit bull puppies that I really wanted to adopt, but I'm not sure if that would be a good idea or not. I really want a big dog puppy, and if I got one from the county shelter, I would be saving a life too, since I think that shelter is a high-kill shelter. Bwah I don't know what to do.

Carrots?

I got my first piece(s) of stuff for my new bento-making hobby today.

Bad lighting in the picture, but they're cute little soy sauce/condiment bottles shaped like carrots and baby bottles (?).
I know I'm crazy, but at least this hobby is more interesting than my other hobbies, and it seems like it'll make my summer less boring.

In other news...
Lots of exciting planning ahead to come!
